Duties and responsibilities:
Opportunities have arisen for roles for
experienced Care Workers to work with individuals presenting physical health needs in Machynlleth.

As a Care worker you will be required:

  • To enable individuals to complete daily personal care tasks.
  • To provide emotional support to individuals and their families.
  • To provide practical support for individuals and their families, such as helping with household tasks and paperwork.
  • To support and monitor their healthcare needs by administering medication and other simple tasks such as temperature checks.
  • To help with everyday tasks such as meal preparation and shopping.
  • Supporting individuals to access the community for hospital and GP appointments.
  • To work with community health and social professionals to ensure individuals' needs are being fully met
  • Working collaboratively with individuals to draw up care and support plans that are personcentred.
  • Monitoring individuals' mental and physical health needs and keeping accurate records of your observations.
  • To have an understanding of the needs of people coming to the end of their life.
  • Willingness to work at least two weekends per month.

Skills, experience and qualifications:

  • Must have an interest in helping other people in spite of their vulnerabilities.
  • A good listener who can also demonstrate the ability to problemsolve.
  • To be adaptable and responsive to fastchanging situations.
  • To demonstrate a high level of patience and be empathetic towards people.
  • To have good communication skills and clarity and sensitivity in all forms of conversations with service users, their families, and friends.
  • Very good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good listening skills.
  • Be able to communicate effectively with Health and Social care professionals.
  • Being nonjudgemental in all situations regarding individual needs.
  • Being a team player and able to work independently.
  • Be able to form good and meaningful relationships with individuals and their families.
  • Have the ability to manage time in a way that benefits the needs of many individuals being cared for.
