About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Support Worker to join our team at Powys Teaching Health Board. As a key member of our ward-based team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the delivery of basic nursing duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Participate in the adequate nutrition and hydration of individual patients as directed by the Registered Nurse.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and tidy ward environment, adhering to Health Board policies and guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, and ward staff, ensuring a polite, respectful, and courteous manner.
  • Use effective communication skills within the ward/department and with all members of the team.
Requirements
  • Good level of general education.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the requirements of the role.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate with a range of people in both a verbal and written capacity.
  • Ability to keep calm in stressful situations.
