We are looking for an experienced Audio Typist to fill a part-time band 2 permanent position.

This opportunity means that you will be working in a busy environment alongside a supportive admin team as well as working closely with Consultant Clinical Physiologists and Clinical Physiologists alike.


You must enjoy working in a clinical environment, have a good standard of general education and poses a relevant typing qualification of RSA 2 standard.

You will use your unique skills as an experienced audio typist to prioritise your work-load and adapt to typing complex clinical neurophysiology correspondence to a high standard with speed and accuracy.


A high degree of confidentiality is a must and knowledge of medical terminology is essential as well as being able to confidently use Microsoft packages including word and excel.


Alongside your typing responsibilities you will have the opportunity to assist when needed by answering phone queries and meeting and greeting a variety of patients that come to our department.

Your main duties will include:


Audio type/copy type all clinical correspondence according to clinical priority in line with agreed standards of speed and accuracy and within the locally and nationally agreed time frames.

Ensure that all correspondence is checked and signed by the appropriate consultant (manual or digital)

Promptly file correspondence and investigation results

To prioritise own workload appropriately, referring any service concerns to the Team Leader in a timely manner

Maintain good relationships with members of staff, ensuring a high degree of confidentiality and integrity at all times.


Communicates with a range of staff, users and visitors to the Trust/Department utilising a variety of communication methods including verbal, electronic and passing information in a format that is appropriate to the individual request.

Answer internal and external telephone queries from staff, patients and others.

Assist admin team with general admin duties as/when required
