Key Responsibilities:

Patient Transport:

  • Safely transport patients to and from healthcare facilities, including hospitals, clinics, and dialysis centers.
  • Assist patients in and out of the vehicle, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Use appropriate equipment, such as wheelchairs and stretchers, to facilitate patient movement.

Patient Care:

  • Provide basic assistance to patients, including all aspects of Manual Handling.
  • Monitor patients during transport, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing.
  • Offer reassurance and emotional support to patients and their families.

Vehicle Maintenance and Safety:

  • Conduct daily checks on the ambulance to ensure it is clean, stocked, and in good working condition.
  • Report any vehicle defects or equipment malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
  • Adhere to all road safety regulations and drive responsibly.

Documentation and Communication:

  • Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities, including pickup and dropoff times.
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
  • Report any changes in the patient's condition to medical staff promptly.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work collaboratively with other ambulance support workers and healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in team meetings and ongoing training sessions.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure a high standard of care.
