Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre and post-procedure care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of equipment and supplies
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
  • Participate in on-call service and be adaptable to emergency situations
  • Wear lead aprons (PPE) during diagnostic, fluoroscopy, and interventional procedures

Requirements

  • Registered with the NMC and experienced in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control
  • Ability to work in a pressurized environment and adapt to changing situations
  • Basic Life Support and IV drug administration skills
  • Computer skills and experience with working policies and SOPs

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with caring for patients with peripheral vascular, gastrointestinal, and urological disease
  • Knowledge of data protection and patient confidentiality
  • Ability to reflect on practice and develop clinical and organizational skills

  • Flexible and adaptable to service needs and expanding radiology services
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively

Language Requirement

Ability to speak English as necessary to undertake the role
