Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group. As a Healthcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support in our Interventional Radiology department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide pre and post-procedure care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the department's equipment and supplies
  • Support the radiology team with administrative tasks and data entry
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Participate in on-call service and be adaptable to emergency situations

Requirements

  • Registered with the NMC and have a minimum of one year's working experience
  • Experience in pre and post-procedural care of Day Care or Short Stay Surgery or Investigations
  • Basic Life Support with adjuncts and willingness to advance to next level of Immediate Life Support, ILS
  • Computer skills and experience in complying with working Policies and SOP's, Infection Control and Risk Management Policies
  • Ability to speak English as necessary to undertake the role

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience with caring for patients who have undergone interventional radiological procedures
  • Experience with aseptic scrub skills and techniques
  • Knowledge of Data protection act and patient confidentiality
  • Willingness to develop one's own knowledge base and clinical and organisational skills

Working Environment

The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, requiring adaptability and flexibility. The role will involve working in a theatre-style environment, wearing lead aprons (PPE) during diagnostic, fluoroscopy and interventional procedures.
