Job Title: Emergency / Advanced Care Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency / Advanced Care Practitioner to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our Emergency Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced clinical care to patients in the Emergency Department, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice, contributing to the improvement of patient outcomes and departmental performance.
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff, promoting professional development and excellence in patient care.
  • Participate in teaching and training activities, sharing expertise and knowledge with colleagues and students.
Requirements
  • NMC 1st Level Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Paramedic/Physiotherapist.
  • Completed or working towards a Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice or PGDip, including pharmacology, clinical decision-making, and diagnostics.
  • IRMER Regulation trained.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • EPALS.
  • 3 years' experience in the Emergency Department at Band 6/7.
  • Experience of working in multidisciplinary teams within an acute healthcare setting.
  • Evidence of involvement in direct supervision and leadership in teaching and mentoring of junior staff and students.
