Role:

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive Talent and Performance Manager to make real impact on an organisation that is changing the face of Britain. They'll bring deep talent expertise with strong experience of managing talent, development programmes and initiatives.

Reporting directly into the Head of Talent, the role holder will work in partnership with the ExCo, HR Business Partners, and CoE's to deliver a cohesive talent strategy.

For the successful candidate this role brings an exciting opportunity to shape our current talent strategy. It will be your role to bring our values and behaviours to life, and embed them into all talent processes.

As our Talent and Performance Manager you will:

  • Design and deliver a talent review process to understand future internal talent of key populations including ExCo successors, ExCo DR's, and critical roles.
  • To work closely with HR Business Partners to develop functional talent plans, and lead the delivery and maintenance of these.
  • Work with ExCo and SLT to identify learning needs and individual competencies and collaborate with L&D CoE to translate these into functional learning plans.
  • Evaluating talent to identify employee readiness, talent gaps, and retention risks.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition team to ensure proactive resourcing strategies are in place to address critical skills gaps.
  • Identify talent programs to address capability and skills gaps.
  • Lead on development of an early career's strategy in relevant functions.
  • Contribute to the development of the D&I strategy, providing thought leadership on building diverse talent pools.
  • To be a trusted advisor and influencer on all aspects of talent management to Head of Talent, and senior leadership teams.
  • Lead the current performance management culture and processes for DCC ensuring the performance management cycle is carried out in line with current guidelines and that reviews and calibration cycles are in place.
  • Ensure continuous improvement in performance management approach, using external insight to identify best practice.
  • Oversee the reporting of performance process and distribution of ratings making sure all functions across DCC are consistent and compliant with Performance Management guidance and process.
  • Proven background in a talent management role.
  • Experience implementing talent programs, including early careers.
  • Experience of using data to influence talent strategy.
  • Solutions and process orientated, seeks to challenge and change.
  • An expert communicator, with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
