We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed and dynamic Neonatal Nursing Associates to join our team at the Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU).

Comprehensive induction and orientation

As a designated Level 1 Neonatal unit we have four special care cots which provide care to babies born from 32 weeks gestation.

In addition, we provide critical care and stabilisation for sick newborn and preterm babies of any gestation prior to their transfer to tertiary neonatal services for on-going critical care.


We also work in conjunction with Maternity services to prevent the unnecessary separation of babies and their parents, providing care for babies who require additional support, but do not need admission to the Neonatal unit, in a dedicated Transitional Care facility.


Our unit is part of the Thames Valley and Wessex Operating Delivery Network who are very innovative and supportive of our staff training and development.

We also deliver Transitional Care on our Postnatal unit aiming to keep babies and families together when possible. You will be supporting the team to car for babies who require special care nursing on both wards. You will be caring for premature and term babies supporting parents, carers and families with their babies' care.
