No experience in Medicines Information? No problem. We'll teach you everything you need to know plus you will undertake the PWDS Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme.

Main duties of the job

To support and promote the timely provision of Medicines Information (MI) in response to enquiries from healthcare professionals, to optimise patient care throughout the organisation.

To support patients and healthcare professionals to gain timely information, and advice, about discharge medications following recent hospital admissions.

To participate in the MI rota to provide continuity and co-ordinate the day-to-day work ensuring that enquiries are answered in an appropriate and timely manner.

Assist in the provision of MI training to a variety of staff including trainee pharmacists and pharmacy undergraduates.

Assist in providing information on new/unlicensed drugs and resolving product shortages.

To support in providing MI workload statistics and QA processes such as KPI reporting, audit, and user surveys. Effective IT skills are required.

Participate in general pharmacy technician duties in the wider department including dispensary and checking duties as appropriate. Participate in late night, weekend, and Bank Holiday rotas.

The post holder may be required to work across all sites with their main base being at Solihull Hospital.

*Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians Or BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science and Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills Or equivalent as defined by the General Pharmaceutical Council *Dispensing Accuracy Accreditation. West Midland's scheme or equivalent. *Evidence of Continued Professional Development *Professional Registration with the GPhC *Accredited Checker Technician

*UKMi Accreditation in Medicines Information Or The Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme (MIATP) for Pharmacy Technicians *NVQ level 4 in management or equivalent knowledge and experience
