Peer Support Trainer

We are looking to recruit a permanent, part-time and term time only, Peer Support Trainer who will work together with the Peer Support Programme Manager and the Peer Support Programme Team to provide training and supervision in accordance with the guidelines of the Peer Support Programme.


You will have experience of working in mental health and/or clinically in counselling, psychotherapy, counselling psychology or clinical psychology and experience of delivering training, therapeutic groups or psychoeducational workshops.

You will have the ability to take an active part in the educational and developmental role of the Programme and in particular to be able to make complex theoretical concepts accessible to a student audience.

Peer support training consists of 8 three-hour sessions and continues through regular supervision after the structured training has ended.

Skills learned through training include being a good listener, helping others to feel more comfortable with social, academic and personal relationships and managing and communicating about sensitive issues.


Peer support training and supervisions take place in person therefore a blended working model is not possible for this role.

Wednesday and Thursday are compulsory working days.

Interviews are expected to take place week commencing Monday 12 June 2023.
