We are seeking a highly motivated and empathetic Peer Support Worker to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering the Feeling Safer intervention, a groundbreaking online programme for the treatment of persecutory delusions.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver the Feeling Safer intervention to individuals with persecutory delusions, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.
- Draw on your lived experience to model hope and recovery, while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Build rapport with service users, establishing trusting relationships and promoting high levels of engagement.
- Work autonomously as a consistent and healthy role model, utilizing your skills and experience to underpin your day-to-day work.
- Attend study fidelity rating meetings, supervision, and regular training sessions with other study staff members.
- Completed at least a Level 2 approved Peer Mentor course or equivalent.
- Qualified through experience as a 'service user' with personal experience of psychosis or bipolar disorder or severe depression, and experience of using mental health services.
- Working knowledge of psychological approaches to psychosis and ability to engage patients with experiences such as paranoia, hearing voices, anxiety, and depression.
