About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peer Support Worker to join our team at Oxford Health NHS Trust. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering the Feeling Safer intervention, a new six-month guided online programme for the treatment of persecutory delusions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Feeling Safer intervention to individuals with persecutory delusions, under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.
  • Draw on your lived experience to model appropriate self-disclosure and emphasize hope and recovery as core messages.
  • Build rapport with service users, maintaining professional boundaries while drawing on both experience and knowledge of the service user perspective and the clinical approach.
  • Establish trusting and supportive relationships with participants, ensuring high levels of engagement.
  • Have the individual service users' needs at the forefront at all times, using your skills and experience of lived experience and peer support to underpin your day-to-day work.
  • Attend and contribute to study fidelity rating meetings, supervision, and regular training sessions with other study staff members.
Requirements
  • Completed at least a Level 2 approved Peer Mentor course (7 credits/ 70 hours of study), or equivalent.
  • Qualified through experience as a 'service user' with personal experience of psychosis or bipolar disorder or severe depression, and experience of using mental health services.
  • Working with patients diagnosed with psychosis.
