Job Introduction

This role is responsible for the design and delivery of the highest quality learning in support of the Academy's training delivery areas.

Reporting to the Learning Design Manager, the post holder will collaborate across their learning portfolio in the consultation, research, design, delivery and evaluation of blended learning solutions that promote continuous performance support and on-going learning to BBC staff.

Main Responsibilities

  • The postholder will work towards the team's objectives in the consultation, research, design, delivery and evaluation of high class digital learning materials designed to promote continuous development,
  • To research, understand and represent the user and their needs ensuring any learning experience addresses those needs and is prototyped and fully tested.
  • Develop a creative vision for individual learning experiences within the confines of budget and viability.
  • To collaboratively develop a learning blend and detail asset requirements for learning experiences; ensuring that the strategy and objectives are met and the proposed content is viable and measurable.
  • To be accountable for the successful delivery of all digital elements of the blend, creating creative briefs/specifications and project managing third parties (internal or external) in the creation of content to the desired outcome.
  • Collaborate fully with a cross Academy project team ensuring common goals and timelines are agreed and well communicated.
  • Project manage the learning design phases together with stakeholders ensuring that milestones are transparent, well communicated and met. Ensure communication throughout the project is clear and lead the establishment of regular project progress meetings with clear actions.
  • Undertake weekly progress reporting on all projects as part of the department's overall delivery and capacity plan.
  • Ensure that any proposed learning intervention meets BBC standards and guidelines and works within the BBC values and objectives.
  • To be able to positively challenge, advise and support stakeholders with a view to creating user centred, simple yet effective and innovative learning experiences.
  • To work in accordance to the terms of reference agreements agreed for each individual project.
  • Build trusted and productive relationships with stakeholders and tenaciously pursue delivery of projects.
  • To regularly review, measure and update content as part of continuous improvement and management of learning material.
  • To plan and deliver short form content as part of every project which meets the needs of the overarching content strategy for social and external purposes.
  • To work alongside other Learning Design Specialists and Content Producers to seek creative input and ideas and share best practice.
  • To work within BBC compliance policies, including Editorial guidelines.
  • To be accountable for working within the BBC Legal and Health & Safety policies and guidelines.

Essential

  • Knowledge of the principles of learning and the success factors that are fundamental to the design and delivery of blended digital learning solutions.
  • Able to demonstrate a clear understanding of how to effectively uncover objectives and outcomes within a project and delivering them against measurable KPIs
  • Able to demonstrate the effective management of stakeholders enabling clear, honest communication to ensure the successful delivery of a project.
  • Able to demonstrate a collaborative approach to projects undertaking a key role within specific project teams.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the effective management of projects
  • Able to demonstrate the principles of user centred design and how to effectively deliver user testing and research
  • Has demonstrable experience in delivering digital learning offers

Desirable

  • Clear knowledge and understanding of BBC editorial standards and policies.
  • Can demonstrate the impact of solutions delivered based on measurements taken
