- Job Description:
We are currently seeking a PA to join our team of dedicated individuals to assist our vibrant 14-year-old daughter. The role involves facilitating her participation in community activities, promoting independence both at home and during outings.
This position offers flexible hours, mainly on weekends or school breaks. Although evening activities are not frequented due to fatigue, there may be opportunities in the future.
The rate of pay aligns with Direct Payments, currently £11.30 per hour.
Our daughter, who is a music and dance enthusiast, has Cerebral Palsy and relies on a powered wheelchair. Despite her medical conditions, she is a great communicator striving for autonomy. The ideal candidate should exhibit moments of joy, possess patience, and be able to assist with transfers, in addition to holding a valid driving license with access to a vehicle.
- Duties include:
- - Handling personal care tasks
- - Promoting independence with dressing
- - Meal preparation and support with self-feeding
- - Engaging in leisure activities like outings with friends and participating in group events
- - Running errands such as shopping and engaging in indoor activities
- Essential Criteria:
- - Reliability
- - Sense of humor to match her joyous personality
- - Patience
- - Capability to assist with transfers
- - Possession of a driving license and a personal vehicle
- Desirable Criteria:
- - Previous experience working with individuals with Cerebral Palsy
Comprehensive training will be provided, including but not limited to Safeguarding, Moving & Handling, First Aid, and Epilepsy Awareness.
Applicants must be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check facilitated by Leeds CIL, with payroll management also handled by the same organization.
