To be responsible for maintaining rosters for all midwifery staff within Maternity (including the community midwives), using the E-Rostering system.

To ensure accurate recording of all Annual Leave, Sickness and Other Leave. To process leave requests and shift swaps in a timely manner via E-Rostering and Shared Mailboxes. To ensure that there is sufficient midwifery staffing cover on each shift.


Where there are shortfalls, try to resolve and where this is not possible escalate to relevant Supervisory Ward Sisters (SWS)/unit leads and Matrons as early as possible.

Attend staffing meetings and ensure all relevant parties are aware of changes regarding cover, annual leave requests and requirements.

The ability to action telephone enquiries and take appropriate action To liaise with IM&T teams to ensure new midwives have IT accounts and relevant access, adding and removing personnel from distribution lists where appropriate To assist SWS and Matrons with the audit/data collection and reporting as necessary, to feedback workforce data To liaise with HR and address any concerns raised and highlight to appropriate matrons as required.

Work closely with wards/ staff areas to understand shortfalls in midwifery cover Photo coping, filing, scanning and other administrative duties to ensure the efficient running of the team Working with the SWS and the Matrons to monitor sickness absence, including supporting with organisation of return-to-work meetings where required, adhering to the absence policy.

To undertake training as and when necessary and to ensure awareness of and compliance with Trust policies and procedures. Other tasks felt necessary for the role by the Line Manager.
