Job Title: Team Leader - Outpatients

Main Duties of the Job:

  • Direct management of the team
  • Appraisals/121s
  • Training and inducting new staff
  • Monitoring staff sickness absence/leave requests
  • Recruiting to vacancies
  • Supporting the rollout of new processes/delivery of outpatient transformation initiatives
  • Monitoring and reviewing department processes
  • Providing cross-cover supervision for other Outpatients teams when necessary

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities:

The post holder will ensure efficient administrative processes within Outpatient Booking Teams - Allied Clinical Services, maximizing productivity and leading service improvement efforts in collaboration with Outpatient Managers and Service Manager.

Responsibilities include managing administrative and clerical staff, overseeing training and development, arranging cross-cover between sites, and serving as the primary contact for administrative queries.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent work experience in the NHS
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience of managing teams

  • Significant experience in a senior administrative support role in a patient-focused setting
  • Experience in managing policies and procedures, building customer relations, developing policies, writing SOPs, and good IT skills
  • Experience with Cerner (iCare) eRS and Genecis systems
  • ECDL
  • Experience working in an outpatient setting
