STV Player is primarily an AVOD (advertising-based video on demand) proposition: users can stream the content for free and revenues are generated by advertising.

STV Player+ was launched in Feb 2019 on iOS and for £3.99 a month or £39.99 a year, subscribers are able to watch STV Player ad-free.


STV Player+ now has the potential to provide significant revenue expansion for STV and as such, we have an exciting opportunity to join our Digital team in a newly created role supporting the acceleration of STV Player+ growth and development.

About the role


The role reports into the Premium Proposition Manager (PPM), who is part of the STV Player Product Management and UX team within STV Digital.

The position is at the heart of the overall STV Digital team, which comprises, in addition to the Product and UX team, Engineering, Data & Insights, Media Management, Marketing and Creative.


You will primarily be responsible for:


The delivery, in close collaboration with the STV Digital team, of STV Player+ enhancements, as directed by the PPM.nThe execution, maximisation and analysis of STV Player+ marketing campaign, in close cooperation with our Marketing team and external partners when applicable.


More specifically, responsibilities of the role include:


Identify, test, deploy and measure opportunities to promote STV Player+, benchmarking competition and closely working with partners.nOwn campaign execution, ensuring full suite of marketing assets are delivered to brief and published in a timely fashion.nSupport the identification of growth audiences, understanding their barriers/drivers to sign up and how to action these insights.nSupport engagement and negotiation with strategic partners to reach new audience.nOwn partnership integrations, in collaboration with key internal stakeholders, to cost-effectively deliver maximum impact.nMonitor partnership integrations and identify necessary actions to maximise impact for both STV and its partners.


Your measure of success will be:


The overall STV Player+ subscriber number and revenues growth, jointly with the rest of the Digital teamnThe performance of assigned campaign, whether in driving KPIs and/or providing STV with new actionable insights to inform its digital strategy.

About you


Highly numerical with demonstrable evidence of insight-led decision-making maximising impact.nExperience of translating large amounts of data and user-insights into clear, prioritised actions.nDeveloped experience in scoping and delivering cross-media marketing campaigns, from initiation to measurement of impact and capture of learnings.nExperience with acquisition funnel optimisation, preferably in a Direct-to-Consumer sales environment, with evidence of ownership of the full user lifecycle.nExperience with CRM tools and proficiency in data analytics is a plus.nDetail oriented and enjoys working independently.nExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively, influence and obtain buy-in at all levels across a broad variety of stakeholders.nA start-up/scale up approach with experience of building solutions from scratch and an excitement for the unknown/untestednA working understanding of the Agile framework is a plus, for example to create and maintain a backlog and write user-stories.
