Location: Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Leatherhead Road, Chessington, Surrey, KT9 2NE

We have a unique opportunity for a 12-month fixed term contract to cover the role of Operations Director during a period of family leave.

Reporting into the Divisional Director, and working as a key member of the senior leadership team for the resort, this is an opportunity to inspire and influence right up to the front line, harnessing a working environment which delivers innovative and memorable guest experiences.

You’ll demonstrate a combination of strategic thinking and commercial consciousness always driven by our purpose to bring joy, create connections and make memories.

You will lead the team for high standards with an uncompromising approach to safety and security. Through your team of 4 direct reports, approximately 70 permanent and 400 seasonal colleagues you’ll work collaboratively to build engagement, progress ridership and improve resort KPI scores.

On occasion you’ll roll-up your sleeves and get stuck in to support the teams, coaching them through challenging situations with agility, integrity and optimism.

This role will include working weekends and bank holidays as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A background in operations management with demonstrable experience of building and managing budgets, strategic resource planning and continuous improvement.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, customer centric environment.
  • Numerate, able to analyse and interpret data to inform future decision making and engage a range of stakeholders
  • A track record of building and aligning teams to deliver goals and bringing fun to the workplace
  • Keen eye for detail, high standards and a focus on results are all absolutely essential
  • Leadership qualities including clear and concise communication to convey our goals and vision clearly and who inspires and encourages teamwork, energy, and creativity
  • An infectious enthusiasm, your powers of persuasion and the fact that the safety and enjoyment of the guest is at the heart of everything you do
  • Previous involvement in, or management of, incident response planning would be advantageous.
