Whatyou'll do

You’ll be joiningus in Shared Services, where we provide the necessary platforms fortrading, market and reference data, and products that are keyenablers for other Commercial and Institutionaldomains.

You’ll apply widelyagreed software engineering principles and methodologies to design,develop, test and maintain applications and services to achieve thestated business and technology goals within required budgets andtimelines. We’ll also look to you to oversee the quality of work,making sure that it meets the technical standards for all servicesoutput.

You’llalso:

  • Design anddevelop reusable libraries and APIs for use across thebank
  • Design and develop software that isamenable for a greater automation of build, release testing anddeployment process on all environments
  • Drivethe reuse and sharing of platform components and technologieswithin the software engineering teams
  • Work aspart of a global team developing software and releasing this into aproduction environment
  • Deliver softwarecomponents to enable the delivery of platforms, applications andservices
  • Write unit and integration tests inautomated test environments to ensure codequality

Theskills you'll need

You’llneed a strong background in software engineering, software designor database design and architecture, as well as extensiveexperience of developing software in a SOA or micro-servicesparadigm. You should also have development experience in aprogramming language, experience of using industry recognisedframeworks and development tooling, and a background ofimplementing programming best practice, especially aroundscalability, availability andperformance.

You’ll alsohave:

  • Extensiveexperience working on real time market data platform specificallyRefinitiv LSEG (TREP) and DACs entitlementsystems
  • Extensive experience of working withdirect market data feeds through vendor or in house software, andsolid market data domain knowledge
  • Solidunderstanding of network topology such as multicast, TCP or sharedmemory
  • Extensive experience tuning operatingsystems on Linux for high throughput and low latencysolutions
  • Experience using applicationmonitoring systems such as Geneos Active Console (ITRS) as well asnetwork monitoring solutions such asCorvil
  • Experience with at least one programminglanguage such as C++, Java or Python, along with solid scriptingskills in Bash, Perl or Python
  • Experience in asecond and third level support and developmentenvironment
