What you'lldo

You’ll establish and applywidely agreed software engineering principles and methodologies todesign, develop, test and maintain applications and services toachieve the stated business and technology goals within requiredbudgets and timelines. We’ll also look to you to oversee thequality of work, making sure that it meets technicalstandards.

You’llalso:

  • Support inthe creation and lead in the implementation of engineering strategyand roadmaps across the business and within yourmission
  • Support the squads within your missionwith technical design, ensuring that they meet the current andfuture needs of the business
  • Inject theexpertise to ensure high quality solutions that are highlyresilient and give our customers the best possible productexperience
  • Provide leadership of a Chapter andensure technical priorities are clear and effectivelycommunicated

Theskills you'll need

You’llneed a strong background in software engineering, software designand architecture, as well as extensive experience of developingsoftware in a SOA or micro-services paradigm. You should also haveproven technical leadership experience for one or more teams and abackground of implementing best practice, especially aroundscalability, availability andperformance.

You’ll alsoneed:

  • Atrack-record of proactively identifying and solving businessproblems with your team.
  • Ability to effectivelydeliver value when faced with ambiguousproblems
  • Ability to act as a subject matterexpert and communicate with clarity and empathy to both technicaland non-technical audiences
  • Understanding howto translate business objectives into data driven insights that canthen be leveraged by a team to produce betteroutcomes
  • Expert-level practical and theoreticalknowledge of Java software development and substantial experienceof message-driven architectures
