Main purpose of the role

We are recruiting for a dedicated and detail-oriented Garment & Quality Technologist to join our Sourcing/Product department. This pivotal role ensures that all AYBL products meet our high-quality standards across multiple suppliers, maintaining the integrity and reputation of our brand.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Collaborate with the Technical Manager to implement quality procedures aligned with business objectives. Communicate testing requirements and product quality standards to suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and quality standards. Ensure AYBL Ways of Working manuals are clear, consistent, and in line with AYBL brand guidelines across manufacturers and product ranges. Work closely with the Design and Garment Technologist teams to conduct timely risk assessments of products before production. Review QC reports from suppliers and approve shipments. Conduct regular random AQL inspections, including measurement reports, at the warehouse. Coordinate with third-party QC inspectors in the COO and the UK for product inspections as needed. Issue and manage supplier corrective action reports for non-compliant products and handle all necessary admin/invoicing for returning and reworking stock. Log daily progress in the critical path, updating any changes to styles throughout pre-production, and urgently flagging non-compliant products to the Sourcing Manager/Garment Technologist. Collaborate with the warehouse returns department to assess product failures and returns. Prepare monthly summaries of quality issues for review by the Sourcing Manager and Garment Technologist. Person Specification

Minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality Control/Garment Technology. Knowledge of seamless knit is preferable but not required. Degree (or equivalent qualification) in Garment Technology, Pattern Cutting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong understanding of garment construction methods and manufacturing sewing operations. Working knowledge of materials, technical fabrics, and functional aspects of garments. Excellent organizational skills to document products thoroughly, provide detailed specifications, and meet deadlines. Experience working with overseas factories and understanding constraints and timescales. Effective communication skills for liaising with overseas suppliers. Ability to anticipate technical problems and implement corrective action plans. Enthusiasm for growth and adaptability within a fast-growing business. Ability to work under pressure and meet key deadlines.
