Applicants are invited for Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+ equivalent) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly, dynamic, large, teaching acute hospital trust. Posts are available now and for 6 months fixed term with a possibility of extension to 2 years.

The post holder will work at a level equivalent to that of a ST3+ trainee. Applicants must have completed Foundation competencies either as part of the UK Foundation programme or demonstrate equivalent training. Applicants should have experience at working at a ST3+ level for a minimum of 6 months ideally within the UK. Basic Life Support training is essential.

Candidates will require current and valid GMC registration.

Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic doctor to join the current Obstetrics and Gynaecology team as a clinical fellow at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The service is delivered through four sites: St James University Hospital (SJUH), Leeds General Infirmary (LGI), Wharfdale General Hospital and Seacroft Hospital.

This is a non-training post, however, it allows the post holder, including applicants who already hold CCT, to gain experience that will help to secure future posts.

The post holder will be an integral part of the service taking part direct clinical care, remote consultations, leading or assisting on the preparation of endometriosis MDT, pelvic pain MDT, and endometriosis clinics, theatre lists including robotics.

The post holder will also be encouraged to take part in research and audit projects in endometriosis and pelvic pain. Our department is research active and currently recruiting to NIHR portfolio and commercial studies in endometriosis

The LTHT Endometriosis Service is specially commissioned to deliver the endometriosis care to the patients of Leeds. It consists of a multidisciplinary team that is able to assess and treat women with all grades of endometriosis ranging from mild disease to the most severe form involving the bladder, bowel and thoracic endometriosis. We work in close collaboration with colorectal surgeons, urologists, thoracic and plastic surgeons.

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

Have completed their post-graduate training at least to a level of an ST3 specialty doctor or equivalent in obstetrics and gynaecology Possess or eligible to apply for GMC Registration Familiarity with UK health system and NHS Is up to date and fit to practise safely and is aware of own training needs. Applicants must have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as assessed by the GMC
