This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Controlling Specialist to oversee the collection and debt recovery function for Public and Private Sector clients. Reporting to the Head of Order to Cash, the Controlling Specialist will be responsible for improving collection outcomes for the sector and its clients by instilling a culture of continuous improvement based on data and insight. An ideal candidate will come with commercial debt experience and have demonstrable skills in achieving continuous improvement within a collection operation. This job requires a self-driven team player with the ability to engage and effectively communicate on complex matters and build relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage a mid-sized organisation (40-60 FTE) catering to multiple clients.
- Achieve internal and client key performance indicators for the Collection and Debt Recovery operation.
- Engage, motivate, and upskill members of the collection operation.
- Identify, champion, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to improve customer and SSCL outcomes for the collection operation.
- Work closely with the Head of Order to Cash to manage department budgets.

Essential Skills

- Minimum 3 years of experience as Collection Manager/Head of Collections for a mid to large-sized collection operation.
- Commercially disposed with experience working in an outsourced operation.
- Demonstrable experience working with 3rd party debt collection agencies.
- Hands-on in analysing processes and data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Exposure to change tools such as LEAN - Six Sigma.
- Understanding of data privacy and regulation for the collection industry.
- Excellent communication and engagement skills.
- IT systems and change awareness.
