We have an exciting opportunity for a Field Operations Manager to join our team in Hammersmith.

This is for a 12 -18 month fixed term contract for maternity leave cover. And represents a brilliant opportunity to develop existing management skills and possibly be your first opportunity to work in the water industry.

As the Field Operations Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing a team of Sewer Technicians to deliver excellent customer service and operational performance across the northwest catchment within strategic pumping and trunk sewers.

You and your team will be the face of Thames Water as you'll be working directly with customers and stakeholders daily.

You will split your time between the office and the field with your team, enabling you to provide direct support, engagement, and performance management both as a team and on a one-to-one basis.

What youâll be doing as a Field Operations Manager
  • Be a role model and ensure the team performs in a manner representative of Thames Water's company values and professionalism.
  • Performance managing and Performance Development of a field operations team.
  • Monitor and steer performance against key metrics.
  • Promote a culture of engagement and motivation within the team.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess the quality of work being completed by your team.
  • Ensure the health, safety and well-being of your team are always maintained and that safe working practices which comply with company procedures are followed.
  • Identify and support the implementation of new initiatives to drive operational efficiency and customer service improvements.
  • Possible participation in a Networks Out of Hours Co-ordinator rota.

What you should bring to the role
  • Excellent people and team management skills.
  • Ability to lead, develop and performance manage field-based operatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for this role.
  • Be well organised and able to manage your time and multi-task.
  • You will be fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office as well as planning and reporting software.
  • Previous experience of liaising with internal and external stakeholders is also highly regarded.
  • Health and Safety qualifications such as IOSH / NEBOSH are desirable.
  • Demonstrating the ability to handle and manage change effectively in a field team.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Whatâs in it for you?
  • Competitive salary between £40,000 and £42,000 per annum.
  • Annual Leave of 26 days holiday per year increasing to 30 with the length of service. (Plus bank holidays)
