The role of Sales Manager for the Metals Business at GE Power Conversion UK is an exceptional opportunity for your capabilities and experience to make a real impact at one of the leading technology companies.

You will lead the sales activity for this key sector in our service department working alongside market experts to deliver a range of electrical applications to our significant installed base.

Job Description

In this role you will focus on: 

  • Managing the accounts of multiple, global metals customers, from steelmaking through to hot and cold rolling process lines, delivering the highest possible service to our customers. 

  • Developing account strategies with and for key customers and align with our value propositions to grow the pipeline of business opportunities, developing and learning new value propositions to enhance and deliver our offering to the highest standard. 

  • Establishing a strong network of key metals partners to enable the growth of the business. 

  • Taking full responsibility for delivering on the primary sales key performance indicators of orders, margin, convertibility, and cash. 

  • Coordinating activities internally with the various sales support functions and supporting other global GE units to help win wider metals business. 

  • Being interested in delivering the most appropriate service sales offering at any time and being able to close out orders at in a timely way, aligned with your ability to plan, forecast, and deliver your sales plan. 

  • Regular travelling to customer meetings in the UK, and outside the UK several times a year. 

 

Requirements 

  • Deep domain experience in the metals business, specifically around the application of automation, power and controls.  

  • A thorough understanding of the full sales lifecycle, from project to after-sales service process. 

  • Proven track record of assuring a high degree of satisfaction in customer or end user interactions. 

  • Possession of a valid passport and driver's license to meet travel requirements. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (or equivalent qualifications) or an advanced business degree with relevant metals experience.
