This role supports teaching and marking across the Psychology undergraduate portfolio.

Much of the lecturers time in Psychology spans far wider than than the general tasks and duties of a lecturer on an undergraduate degree. The role is designed to absorb additional tasks such as assisting the specialist technician/s in preparing, and monitoring equipment and software for teaching and research, supporting the workshop provision in research methods and lab teaching across the Psychology UG programmes and providing one to one and small group tutorial support for students in modules across the Psychology UG programmes as well as supporting with REF./KEF student placements, recruitment and external engagement. This role will also be able to mark undergraduate assignments and provide feedback.

The Department of Social Sciences and Nursing is seeking to appoint a Psychology Demonstrator to support the teaching delivery and marking of our popular British Psychological Society accredited Undergraduate Programmes. The successful candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in psychology or a relevant subject, and preferably have experience of working in Higher Education. Knowledge of the BPS core curriculum is key to this role, in addition to a positive attitude and engagement with students, the ability to work as part of a large team and excellent organisational and communication skills. The post holder will mainly be supporting the teaching and delivery of core modules across levels 4-6 which will involve the use of psychophysiological measures and specialist software.
