Behavioral Health Clinician

This position provides clinical services in the Mental Health & Wellness Department at major adult correctional centers. The successful candidate will provide individual and group interventions, complete documentation in inmate health records, and participate in the Mental Health & Wellness department team meetings.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical services to inmates, including individual and group interventions
- Complete documentation in inmate health records
- Participate in the Mental Health & Wellness department team meetings
- Collaborate with other staff members to address critical mental health needs
- May be involved in special projects or programs
- Training and experience in the treatment of mental disorders
- Demonstrated ability to develop intervention and treatment plans
- Demonstrated ability to provide individual and group counseling/therapy
- Considerable working knowledge of psychopathology, diagnostic nomenclature, psychological theory, and ethical practices
- Demonstrated ability to provide training
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to participate in treatment team and interdisciplinary meetings
- Must be willing to travel throughout the Eastern Region
- Graduate degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Social Work, or equivalent degree in a related human services field
- Experience providing mental health services in a correctional, forensic, outpatient, or other setting
- Licensed as a clinician, QMHP, or be QMHP eligible as dictated by the Code of Virginia
