Job Title : HR Manager

Hybrid : 4 days a week in the office

Job Purpose: The HR Manager plays an important role in the success of this people focussed commercial cleaning business. You will be aligned with JR’s mission, core values, policies and procedures, and responsible for instilling these into the business operations. We want to ensure we have the highest quality workforce that feels valued, fairly treated, and optimally structured to deliver a best in class service to our clients.

You will be an experienced HR professional with strong character and drive as this is a highly operational role that will occasionally be client facing. You will partner with other departments of the business to ensure that HR operations and procedures are in line with current and future business plans.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership within the business

  • Business Partnering – identifying and creating the HR priorities with functional leads to support our significant growth agenda.
  • Lead and manage key HR projects that support the Business and HR strategy
  • Ensure there is a close link between the Payroll and HR Department.

Employment Relations

  • Advises and coaches on employee relations, grievance, disciplinary, restructures, performance management, policies and procedures, escalating to the HR Director for high-risk or highly complex cases.
  • Manage TUPE transfers, ensuring that the HR Officer is following all legal requirements, and the process is managed in a compliant manner.
  • Provide guidance to the members of the HR Department on ER matters.
  • Liaise with external HR consultants on higher-level HR queries and any tribunal claims.
  • Liaise with the Home Office, solicitors, DBS and unions where required.
  • Support the HR Director in updating policies and procedures as required.

Recruitment

  • Support with all head office recruitment, including the creation of interview questions and participation in interviews.

Organisational Effectiveness and creating a high performing Culture

  • Responsible for promoting a team atmosphere that results in strong relationships, communication and cross functional effective partnerships
  • Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation
  • Help to develop the capability of Line Managers within the organisation
  • Create and deliver training programmes.
  • Support the HR Director with any HR reporting or projects.
  • Support any employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications, Experience and Technical Knowledge:

  • Previous experience within an HR environment, particularly with complex Employee Relations.
  • Proven experience of working in a fast paced, multicultural environment, and handling multiple tasks at any one time.
  • Experience with TUPE.
  • Experience in conducting disciplinary and grievance cases.
  • Proficient knowledge and understanding of UK Employment Law.
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Ideally CIPD Level 5 qualified or studying towards qualification.

  • Ability to follow procedures
  • Knowledge of other languages such as Spanish/Portuguese is an advantage but not essential
