Job Description
We are looking for a Content Strategist to join our content team at Studio ID, focusing on delivering successful content marketing programs to clients and drive profitability for Industry Dive's content marketing line of business.
In this role, you will help build and execute on content and editorial strategies for clients, manage the full production process of content, select and manage content creator bench, and ensure adherence to quality standards.
You will also oversee the curation of licensed content for our clients with the most stringent guidelines to ensure that we surface articles which meet audience needs and pass muster under brand scrutiny. In addition, the Content Strategists help manage margins and costs for each customer to drive profitability for Industry Dive's content line of business.
Responsibilities:
Develop and Advise on Effective Content Strategies that deliver ROI:
- Develop effective content strategies in accordance with Industry Dive’s methodology in partnership with clients.
- Review marketing performance to make recommendations and optimize programs.
- Lead and support Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with clients to ensure alignment on strategy and goals.
Manage Full Original Content Production Process, from Ideation to Optimization:
- Facilitate writer pitch process, including supporting quality ideation.
- Review and edit original content for quality and clarity and ensure that pitches and content are on-brand.
- Project manage content production.
- Facilitate writer and content creator payments.
- Negotiate rates with content creators to drive profitability.
- Drive value for Industry Dive’s CMP platform as necessary to support overall health of the program.
- Oversee localisation process of global content to ensure the content feels appropriate and relevant for local markets (in partnership with local market writers and editors)
Profitability, Growth, and Retention:
- Deliver high-value content marketing services to assigned clients.
Ensure Successful Client Onboardings:
- Facilitate discovery sessions with clients to understand their goals, guidelines, and resources related to their editorial efforts.
- Execute against Industry Dive’s onboarding methodology, including advising on content operations, content planning, and measurement framework.
- Help run content kick-offs with clients to prepare them to effectively curate licensed content and manage original content creation through our software.
- Source, onboard, and manage content creator bench.
Successfully deliver value via Licensed Content Marketplace:
- Utilize subject knowledge and editorial insight to choose a proper mix of content that meets brand and audience needs.
- Proactively monitor the performance of a client’s mix of licensed sources and regularly communicate performance.
- Review the ongoing curation efforts of freelance network, providing feedback and approval of articles.
Success Criteria:
- Deliver content services to support strong logo retention for clients.
- Monitor, action, and report on client health signals for all assigned clients.
- Deliver ROI-positive services on scope, on budget, and on time.
- Achieve 80% billable utilization.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in a content marketing role with hands on experience in creating exceptional and strategic content
- Bachelor's degree (preferably in journalism or marketing) or equivalent experience
- A deep understanding of the digital marketing space and enthusiasm for working with commercial brands
- A good understanding with visual content production/curation & imagery best practices
- Comprehensive understanding of voice and ability to adapt to a client’s specific tone (e.g. What makes a Buzzfeed story different from a Washington Post story?)
- Ability to concisely communicate with managers and colleagues about growth opportunities and client risk
