Senior Medical Writer – Medcomms

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Medical Writer to join an innovative and rapidly growing medical communications agency. Role Overview:

As a Senior Medical Writer, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of high-profile accounts, producing scientifically accurate content that resonates with both medical and non-medical audiences. This role will see you leading scientific discussions, creating complex written materials, and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scientific Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of assigned accounts, therapy areas, and brand strategies, using your knowledge to craft compelling scientific content that aligns with client goals.
  • Content Creation: Write and develop high-quality content for a variety of medical communications materials, including publications, presentations, and digital assets, with minimal supervision.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Take the lead on scientific discussions with healthcare professionals, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and external experts to inform content and messaging.
  • Brand Alignment: Ensure all written materials are in line with client brand strategies, maintaining consistency in messaging across different communication channels.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including account managers, creatives, editors, and medical strategists, to ensure seamless delivery and high-quality outputs.
  • Mentorship: Share your expertise and provide guidance on scientific content, therapy areas, and brand knowledge to junior writers and other internal stakeholders.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, regulatory guidelines, and best practices to continually elevate the quality and compliance of your medical writing.

What They're Looking For:

  • Educational Background: A degree in a relevant scientific discipline (essential). A postgraduate qualification or PhD would be an added advantage.
  • Medical Writing Experience: Proven experience as a medical writer, preferably within a medical communications agency or similar environment.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with the capacity to explain complex scientific concepts in a clear and engaging way.
  • Independence & Teamwork: Ability to work autonomously on complex projects while also collaborating effectively within a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
