The reason for this hire is to expand an existing sales team with an experienced Business Development Professional with experience of working with global accounts / customers.


You will have previous experience and achievements selling AI / Big Data solutions to the Financial Sector to monetise the Alternative Data market, which the business believes presents a substantial and lucrative opportunity for yourself and the business.


This is a niche and challenging role where mandatory AI & Big Data experience selling to Hedge Funds, Stock Exchange data teams, Venture Capitalists, Private Equity Funds, and Fund Managers will be imperative for you to be successful.

The Mission:

  • Build and manage relationships with key clients such as Hedge Funds, Stock Exchange data teams, Venture Capitalists, Private Equity Funds, and Fund Managers.
  • Maintain and expand global customer relationships, especially in the Americas, London and Asia.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Science and Engineering team in Ireland, GTS data delivery team, and the internal product management team.
  • Use the group’s internal eco-system of companies from different verticals (Retail, Ports, Infrastructure etc.)
  • This role will require domestic and international travel


Responsibilities:

  • Drive significant and sustainable revenue growth in the Alternative Data sector from the Financial Services industry.
  • Achieve targets for Total Contract Value (TCV) in the first year and retention targets in subsequent years; ensure the pipeline is robust enough to meet these targets and expedite revenue realization from TCV.
  • Develop proposals, deliver presentations, and negotiate contracts to successful completion.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key customers, industry influencers, and the Group‘s stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree with strong numeracy skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Experience:

  • Experience working in global and virtual teams across multiple countries.
  • Proven experience in selling complex, rapidly evolving solutions – ideally AI Apps and Big Data.
  • Successful track record in senior business development and sales leadership roles.
  • Experience in designing and executing strategic sales plans.
  • Demonstrated success in pursuing large revenue opportunities involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations.
  • High-level understanding of, and ability to present, the value proposition of the company’s Alternative Data offerings.
  • Experience selling and delivering alternative data to Hedge Funds and other financial services data acquisition teams.
  • Experience collaborating with data scientists and engineers to develop compelling use cases for financial services.
  • Proven experience in presenting to and negotiating with senior-level audiences.


Skills:

  • Ability to quickly understand technical challenges and communicate them clearly.
  • Extensive experience in negotiating complex alternative data deals and achieving business, revenue, and margin targets.
  • Strong commercial mindset focused on delivering customer value.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
