Role Description
20 hours per week, £29,925 pro rata, flexible working patterns, the post is hybrid but remote working will be considered for the right candidate. This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly professional, motivated and organised individual to join Glenalmond College at an exciting stage in our Development journey. The department’s database, ‘Tucan Tech’, is an integral part of the team, and crucial to its success. We are looking for a Database & Insights Officer to manage this essential role to assist in the development function reaching their aspirational targets. This role requires enthusiasm for working with data, diligence, accuracy, consistency, and precision. Working as an integral part of a small, friendly team, the Database & Insights Officer has an essential role in effectively running “the engine” of our operation – our database You will be confident in planning and priority setting, scheduling weekly, monthly, and annual data entry work. You will be experienced in handling, inputting, and using data and databases and be familiar with data protection legislation, data cleansing and good practice.
The Position
Reporting: to the Director of Development and Alumni Relations
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To manage the Toucan Tech database and maintain the integrity and accuracy of the data.
- To optimise and help colleagues use the database for fundraising appeals, event management, generating reports and queries, processing all gifts and providing professional support and training to internal users.
- To ensure the database is up to date and complies with data protection legislation.
- Insight and stewardship management including segmentation and prospect research.
- Gift management including income reconciliation and Gift Aid submissions.
Person Specification
- Experience with a CRM Database is essential.
- A self-motivated individual who can demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interpret and present data in different ways to a range of people at all levels.
- Effective planning, and administration skills, with the proven ability to prioritise.
- Experience working with Alumni would be an advantage.
- Awareness of the importance of data security and confidentiality and complying with the provisions of data protection law and the School’s privacy policies.
- Initiative, common sense and patience.
- Experience in the education sector is a plus
