IT Application Support Analyst

Aylesbury


Eames Consulting are currently partnered with a leading Insurance company based in Aylesbury. They are currently seeking a talented IT Application Support Analyst who will be responsible for maintaining and supporting software applications used by the organization. This role involves monitoring applications, identifying and resolving issues, and working closely with other IT teams and business units to ensure applications meet the needs of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor the performance and stability of applications.
  • Respond to and resolve application issues reported by users or detected by monitoring tools.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to users experiencing application-related problems.
  • Log and track incidents in the incident management system.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring issues.
  • Collaborate with developers and other IT teams to implement fixes and enhancements.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of application upgrades and patches.
  • Test new releases and features to ensure compatibility and stability.
  • Work with vendors and third-party providers to address issues and implement solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions and provide support to end-users on the effective use of applications.
  • Develop user manuals, FAQs, and other support materials.
  • Monitor application performance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Optimize application configurations and processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure applications comply with organizational security policies and standards.
  • Implement and maintain security controls to protect application data.
  • Liaise with business units to understand their needs and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing updates on application status and issues.
  • Work collaboratively with the IT team to support overall IT objectives.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in application support, IT support, or a related role.
  • Experience with specific applications or systems relevant to the organization is a plus.
  • Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) and databases (SQL, Oracle, etc.).
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills may be beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Financial services or Insurance background is preferred but not a must.
