At Connection Support, our team of 200 staff members and 150 volunteers work alongside people to overcome life’s challenges, with the goals of solving homelessness and achieving independence. **About the service**

Connection Support, subcontracted by One Recovery Bucks (ORB) provides up to 2 years support into temporary accommodation for people aged 18 plus who are doing well in their recovery from alcohol or drug addiction and have abstained for at least 6 weeks.

We are recruiting a Recovery Housing Worker to join our team in Aylesbury and Chesham to support people to move onto long term accommodation.

**About the role**

Working alongside clients you will support them to create a plan which enables them to move onto long term accommodation where they have the skills and resources to live independently and link in with ORB recovery Workers to remain abstinent from drugs or alcohol. This can include but not limited to tenancy sustainment support and information, accessing benefits, debt support, wellbeing, education, training, employment opportunities, and other services which will support them.

In addition, you will support clients to gain confidence in or improve their practical life skills, such as budgeting, paying bills and planning meals. You will also connect with community networks, family and friends where applicable.

This post is permanent working 22.5 hours per week, across 3 days preferably, however we are happy to discuss flexibility if required.

Salary £22,675 - £25,380 per annum, pro rata, dependent on experience.

The closing date is Monday 4th March at 10am. Interviews will be held on Friday 8th March in Aylesbury.

**About you.**

You will need to have experience of working in homelessness services, housing, mental health, substance misuse or similar, or lived experience of homelessness and/or substance misuse. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of the benefits system and have worked with or have an understanding supporting people who are in recovery from substance misuse.

You’re an excellent communicator who finds it easy to build connections with a diverse range of people. You understand that each person is different, so a flexible individualised approach is what’s needed to motivate and encourage people. You have a strong resilience to not give up and can work creatively to find solutions.

You are well organised and understand how to use IT systems as you will be recording, monitoring, and updating outcomes, and writing case notes for your clients. Ideally, you will have a good understanding of support planning processes.

Due to supporting people in Aylesbury and Chesham a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
