You are a hunter within the Mergers and Acquisitions arena. Your background is likely to be Mergers and Acquisitions within venture capital, private equity, corporate development or similar where you have been responsible for deal sourcing, structuring and negotiation and, extensive relationship building.

Ideally, you have a solid understanding of governance, risk and compliance and a network to match. Alternatively, you've previously been exposed to the training and education or information, insights and data sector.

Job purpose, tasks and responsibilities

This role is instrumental in driving our growth strategy through mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.

As our Business Development Manager - mergers and acquisitions, you will take the lead in identifying potential acquisition targets, conducting thorough due diligence, negotiating deals, and managing the pre-acquisition process and relationships.

You will be the bridge between our organisation and potential partners, shaping the future of our company.

Key responsibilities:

Discover and evaluate potential acquisition targets. Build and nurture a strong industry network to source M&A opportunities. Lead negotiations to secure favourable terms. Conduct comprehensive due diligence processes. Interface with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with business strategy. Support the internal team to close the deal. Essential and desirable capabilities

You will also need;

A proven track record in business development - mergers and acquisitions, particularly within GRC and/or Training & Education and Data & Information sectors. To be a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, capable of evaluating financial and operational performance metrics. Outstanding negotiation skills and the ability seek out and assist in the closure of complex deals Strong project management skills Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and with impact. Relevant qualifications (ACCA/CFA/FRM/MBA) or equivalent experience
