Allen & Yorkare delighted to be working with a statutory waste disposalauthority, responsible for the disposal of waste collected by anumber of London Boroughs.

Our client is lookingfor a commercially minded Strategic Development Manager to lead onexciting projects that aim to change the way waste is managed andimprove sustainability by separating, collecting and disposing ofwaste in ways that cut down carbon emissions.

You will need to hold adegree or equivalent level qualification in an engineering,environmental or science discipline, with extensive experience ofmanaging projects and recycling services, dealing with performancerelated issues and managing multiple and senior stakeholders.You'll be able to demonstrate your understanding of the financialand policy levers influencing recycling markets and have a strongunderstanding of relevant legislation for planning, permitting,environment, waste, plant and Health & Safety, contractsand procurement. With experience of working in waste management ineither a private or public sector role, you'll have been involvedwith collection service design and mobilisation. An excellentcommunicator, you'll have strong interpersonal skills and enjoyworking collaboratively.

Experience of projectstrategy development, together with managing budgets andoperational staff, including contractors, would be beneficial tothis role.
