About the Role:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve waste management practices and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design and mobilize collection services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement cost-saving initiatives.
  • Manage budgets and operational staff, including contractors, to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent level qualification in an engineering, environmental, or science discipline.
  • Extensive experience in managing projects and recycling services, dealing with performance-related issues and managing multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of financial and policy levers influencing recycling markets and relevant legislation for planning, permitting, environment, waste, plant, and Health & Safety.
  • Experience of working in waste management in either a private or public sector role, with involvement in collection service design and mobilization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
