About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Circular Economy Strategic Delivery Manager. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in championing transformative projects aimed at overhauling waste management and sustainability practices across our six boroughs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Development: Collaborate with boroughs and operations teams to implement a new Household Reuse and Recycling Centre (HRRC) model, focusing on social value reuse and significant HRRC enhancements.
  • Strategic Planning: Oversee the design and development of six circular economy hubs, ensuring they foster social value through reuse and repair activities.
  • Project Management: Lead a dynamic team and manage a project team of 40, ensuring alignment with project goals and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Budget Oversight: Manage a budget of £10,000,000, conducting profit/loss and ROI analyses, and ensuring financial investments align with sustainability objectives.
  • Environmental Compliance: Stay informed about current and emerging waste management regulations and ensure all projects comply with both local and national standards.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Use tools like Microsoft, Power BI, and ArcGIS for thorough analysis of project data and generating detailed reports to guide strategic decisions.
Requirements
  • Education: Hold a degree or equivalent qualification in engineering, environmental, or science subject.
  • Experience: Have a relevant project management qualification (desirable) and extensive experience in managing projects and recycling services, particularly in dealing with performance-related issues and managing multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to respond flexibly.
  • Knowledge: Have knowledge of financial and policy levers influencing recycling markets.
