Bramley ward is a busy and dynamic 20 bedded ward which caters for patients with acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, and kidney transplantation.

Main duties of the job

Some of the duties of the role include:

Being an effective leader and role model, ensuring the standards and quality of care given to patients, together with the environment in which care is delivered, are maintained to the highest standard.

Provide regular direct clinical care and utilise experience to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance.

Directly line manage a team of nurses, carrying out yearly appraisals and ensuring staff training is up to date.

You will be a main point of contact for patients, visitors, relatives and staff acting as a resource for problems, needs and able to clearly present patients view to others.

With the oversight of the Speciality Matron have 24-hour responsibility for managing staff and budgets.

Ensuring that the standards and quality of care given are maintained to a high standard to include hotel service provision and the environment in which care is deliveredHave responsibility in ensuring that patients and users are involved in their care.

Providing visible evidence that their feedback is used to maintain standards or implement improvements that have an effect on their careBe an effective leader and role model, providing regular direct clinical care. In addition to ensuring effective use of non-clinical time to support the implementation of both clinical and non-clinical governance, facilitating the modernisation of patient flexibly as a member of the ward team to ensure standards are being maintained, evaluated and where necessary improvedContribute to the work of time-limited committees and project groupsUndertake Bronze shifts to ensure that capacity and flow is maintained throughout the CAS Division.Undertake any other duties that may reasonably be required
