Role Summary  

You will provide technical support to end users, troubleshoot and resolve application-related issues, and maintain application functionality and availability through monitoring and proactive maintenance of key systems in the applications portfolio. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have a robust background in an SME setting, where they have honed their skills across a broad spectrum of technologies including PowerShell, .NET, SharePoint, SQL, database management, and MS modern workplace. Ideal candidates will have proven experience in a data-driven, engineering, or consulting environment and possess a genuine interest in embracing innovation and adapting to new challenges. The role demands a versatile individual who can juggle various duties, seamlessly transition between different tasks, work collaboratively with various teams, and devise inventive solutions to complex challenges

Key Accountabilities

Troubleshooting -  Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by end users promptly and effectively
Collaborate with users to identify root causes and provide solutions. Technical Support - Provide guidance and assistance to users experiencing difficulties with applications
Provide clear instructions for troubleshooting common issues.
Problem Resolution - Work closely with development teams to address application related problems
Implement solutions, including software fixes and enhancements.
Documentation - Create and maintain technical documentation, users guides and knowledge base articles to help the end users better understand and use applications. Monitoring - Monitor application performance metrics. Use these metrics to proactively address potential issues and optimise performance.
Performance Optimisation  - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for enhancing application performance
Improve the overall user experience by optimising system responsiveness and efficiency.

Essential technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualification

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field. Experience in Application support gained in a diverse applications environment; utilising multiple different programming languages. Solid understanding of Application support best practises. Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (i.e. C#, Java, PowerShell, Typescript)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think creatively and propose innovative solutions and the tenacity to ensure even the most problematic issues are resolved. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable technical and professional skills, knowledge and qualification

Familiarity with cloud computing platforms and their services (Azure, AWS) Familiarity with Azure DevOps and ALM. Familiarity with large scale SharePoint deployments (cloud and server) Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL Databases and the administration requirements for each.
