Job summary

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist, Counselling Psychologist, or Psychological Therapist to work in the Central Norfolk Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team.

This is a 12-month fixed-term post to cover maternity leave. It is an exciting opportunity for clinicians to gain experience, knowledge, and skills in working with people with first episode psychosis.

Although this post is advertised as full-time, applicants who wish to work part-time will also be considered. Flexible working arrangements are available for both full-time and part-time applicants, in line with Trust policy.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will provide psychological assessment and treatment for people with psychosis and their families and carers. The post holder will form an integral part of the multi-disciplinary team. Job planning will be completed with the successful candidate to ensure that they are able to work safely and competently in accordance with professional guidelines.

Soon to be qualified Clinical Psychologists, Counselling Psychologists, and Psychological Therapists are encouraged to apply.

Prior training and knowledge in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for psychosis (CBTp) and Behavioural Family Therapy (BFT) is desirable, but not essential.

Job responsibilities

EIP in Norfolk and Waveney has undergone significant expansion over the last eight years following funding from NHS England for the Access and Waiting Time Standard. Although this post is based in Norwich, there will be opportunity to work alongside the other EIP teams in Norfolk, including Kings Lynn and Great Yarmouth.

The Norfolk and Waveney EIP Psychology team has also undergone expansion over the past five years. The current team includes four clinical psychologists, five CBT therapists, one Trainee Systemic Family Therapist and three assistant psychologists. The Psychology team hold regular away days and there is opportunity for peer supervision and Continued Professional Development (CPD).

We are a research active service with regular opportunities to get involved in national and local projects. The service also has links with the University of East Anglia (UEA) Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology.
