You will be a leading member of the Division of Psychology & Psychological Therapies services (DPPT) and be involved in supporting key service developments across Working Age Adult community services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Clinical Psychologist to work up to 4 days per week and provide a high-quality clinical service across the CMHTs in South Derbyshire and Derby and provide advice, consultation and supervision to our staff and multidisciplinary colleagues as well as direct clinical inputs, depending on local needs.

We are excited to offer this 8b role which provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Psychologist to further develop and consolidate their skills working within the specialist area of Adult Mental Health.

You will be a senior Clinical Psychologist within the service and will provide an expert clinical service through individual and group clinical work as well as indirect work to support DPPT staff and multidisciplinary colleagues working within CMHTs. You will also take a key role in service developments across working age adults community services. You will have excellent relationship-building skills and abilities to manage varied work demands, including research and audit.

Managed within Psychology, you will be joining a committed team of highly skilled Psychologists and Psychological Therapists working within Working Age Adult community services, and a wide network of Psychologists working in other specialties across DPPT in Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

Working for our organisation

There are multiple opportunities for peer support, specialist supervision groups (eg therapy models, dissociation, EMDR, neuropsychology) and regular CPD events. We have excellent links with local Clinical Psychology Training Courses and provide regular placements and teaching.

We are transforming all our Trust’s CMHTs by providing personalised, trauma-informed care and you will join the Division of Psychology and Psychological Services who have a pivotal role in this.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be responsible for the provision of specialist psychological services, within Adult Community Mental Health Teams (CMHTs). You will be a senior clinician in the psychological services team and a key member of multidisciplinary CMHTs for adults of working age. You will combine direct individual and group clinical work with supervision, training, consultation, research, and service evaluation/development, and will inform and enable best practice and have a lead role in transformational work.

You will use your experience of working with those with a wide range of complex mental health needs and deliver evidence-based interventions to service users with severe and enduring mental health problems.

You will be working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedures, and will utilise your research skills for audit, policy, service development and research within the services.

The role includes providing supervision to assistants, and psychologists during their postgraduate training and other psychologists as appropriate.
