Asa newly established function, the individual will have the opportunity tosupport the Head of Group Tax in shaping and managing the strategic directionof the Group Tax function, including identifying and embedding innovative androbust solutions to manage tax risk, compliance and reporting.
Primaryresponsibility is the delivery of all aspects of the interim and year-end tax provisions,oversight of direct tax compliance across the jurisdictions in which JTCoperates and supporting with Group Tax projects.
The role requires a proactivecandidate with extensive experience in corporate tax accounting, reporting andconsolidation for multinational entities who is looking for the opportunity to drivegroup strategy and develop their career within an entrepreneurial organisation.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Manage the Group’s interim and year-end tax reporting process, including current and deferred tax consolidation schedules for the Group and the tax disclosures for the consolidated and significant entity accounts.
- Coordinate and oversee the Group’s direct tax compliance processes to ensure our tax compliance requirements are met in each jurisdiction, including management of external advisors and reviewing tax returns for Group companies.
- Support the Head of Group Tax, or act as project lead, in driving forward relevant projects, including M&A, transfer pricing, treasury and cash management.
- Identify, recommend and help to embed technology-driven solutions which will create efficiencies, automate manual processes and help future-proof the business as it seeks to achieve ambitious growth aspirations.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of the Group’s tax strategy and tax risk management framework.
- Manager relationships with external tax advisers to oversee other territories’ compliance requirements.
- Adhere to CPD requirements in accordance with qualification level and JTC’s policy and procedure.
- Adhere to JTC core values and guiding principles.
- Any other duties as deemed necessary.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Qualified ACA/CTA or equivalent with extensive corporate tax experience.
- Expertise in accounting and tax reporting under IFRS is essential.
- Industry experience in a multinational listed group is a strong advantage.
- International tax experience would be advantageous but not essential.
- A technical and proactive approach to project management.
- Strong communicator and stakeholder manager.
- Ability to simplify complex concepts and build relationships (both internally and externally).
- Knowledge of Pillar 2 and CbCR would be beneficial but not essential.
