Job summary

Drayton Ward, a male Medium Secure inpatient rehabilitation ward, requires a dedicated and flexible administrator to support the medical and nursing services it provides as part of NSFT's Secure & Forensic Services based at Northside House, Thorpe St Andrew, Norwich.

The role primarily involves the provision of administrative support to the Consultant Psychiatrists in the form of typing, organisation and minuting of clinical meetings, maintenance of records and regular liaison with external stakeholders such as other healthcare providers and the Ministry of Justice. There will be also be significant engagement with the whole eclectic and interesting Ward team

Candidates must have a very good standard of written English, display excellent attention to detail and have an ability to communicate clearly to a wide range of people.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties:

Organisation of Care Programme Approach (CPA) meetings. Minuting of CPA meetings and ward rounds. Audio typing. Liaison with other teams and departments regarding admissions, transfers and discharges. Scanning of handwritten forms / assessments into the Electronic Patient Record (Lorenzo).

In addition the role will include:

Providing cover for Northside House Patients' Finance Office. Engaging with clinical staff in the ward's Quality Improvement projects.

Preferably candidates will have at least two years of recent administration experience. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is essential and applicants will ideally have attained RSA II typing qualifications, ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) or equivalent. Time management skills are needed in order to organise own workload and cope with shifting priorities and deadlines.

Northside House has three small Clinical Administration Teams - one for each ward - who are very supportive of each other. We are part of the Secure & Forensic Services Care Group within Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust.

The Secure & Forensic Services Care Group provides expert mental health care within Secure inpatient wards,within our local prisons and police Investigation Centres, and within the wider community.
