Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Spectrum as a new Deputy Director of Nursing and Quality. You will be an enthusiastic, experienced and focused Registered Nurse who has held position as a senior nurse with a strong track record of delivering high quality standards of professional practice across multiple services.

The post is vacant due to internal promotion and is an ideal opportunity for an aspiring Director of Nursing to make an impact by supporting the delivery of an organisational objective to deliver excellence in care. You will provide highly visible motivational senior leadership and management to the nursing and allied health professional workforce.

The ability to build strong relationships with all stakeholders and to be an ambassador for Spectrum is essential to the success of this role. Patients and staff with lived experience are vital to ensure that we deliver the services that are safe, caring and effective.

Applicants should have held senior nursing leadership roles delivering high quality, patient-centred care. You must be able to demonstrate in your application how you meet the essential criteria as only candidates who demonstrate this will be shortlisted. You will need to be comfortable being visible, accessible and be a compassionate leader who role models the values for all Spectrum staff.

Main duties of the job

You will act as the Deputy to the Director of Nursing and Quality, across the full range of duties with the specific responsibility to ensure the responsive day to day delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care. Deputising will include travel across the North Region at local, regional and national levels as required.

You will be responsible for providing strong professional leadership, be responsible for risk management, infection prevention and control, patient safety and embedding the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework.

The postholder will lead the development, maintenance and improvement of systems and processes. This is to ensure robust clinical practice, clinical governance and patient safety is enhanced and embedded to meet regulatory and commissioned requirements.

Lead on quality assurance, clinical governance and patient safety agenda - including supporting the embedding of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework and delivering on the Patient Safety Incident Response Plan.

Lead the review, development and implementation of the Organisation's Nursing and Allied Health Professional Strategy/Clinical Strategy, supporting the development of strategies that promote a culture of ownership and accountability whilst encouraging innovation and staff empowerment.
