Catering is at the heart of the organisation -You will be responsible for receiving and receipting deliveries of fresh, chilled, frozen and ambient dry goods from suppliers ensuring thorough inspection has been carried out on receipt of goods and preparing deliveries of food items to wards and departments across the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Key to the role is maintaining good food hygiene and operating a first in first out storage of perishable items, while promoting a professional image to patients and visitors.

The catering department at QE Hospital is expanding our team and recruiting Band 2 Catering Stores Post working - shift patterns plus alternate weekends Shift ENH, along with a public sector pension, 27 days leave and the opportunity to advance your skills and career.

No experience is required as full training is provided, so if you're friendly with a 'can-do' attitude, then we want to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

* Ensure codes of practice for HACCP and food safety are followed as per site training

* Temperatures of cooked foods is recorded, along with chilled and frozen storage using the designated HACCP sheets

* Supplier deliveries are checked against temperature and quality. Failures reported to Supervisors and Managers for rejection

* Load Handling, delivery of food and non-food items.

* Handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH and training provided

* Check dates and rotation of food accordingly within the working area

* Maintain excellent cleaning standards within the working area following cleaning schedules supplied

* Record appropriate food waste and report high levels of waste to supervisors
