The Catering Support Operative position is essential to our mission. You will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing the receipt and inspection of various food supplies, including fresh, chilled, frozen, and dry goods. Your role will also involve the timely delivery of these items to different departments within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to HACCP guidelines and food safety protocols as per site training.
- Record temperatures of cooked and stored foods, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
- Inspect supplier deliveries for quality and temperature, reporting any discrepancies to supervisors.
- Manage the handling and delivery of food and non-food items efficiently.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals safely, following COSHH regulations and training.
- Monitor food rotation and expiration dates within your designated area.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness in your work environment, following established cleaning schedules.
- Document food waste accurately and communicate significant waste levels to supervisors.
