Summary

RaytheonUK is looking for an experienced and high performing RF Engineer tojoin a successful Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT)team within the Global Sensors Mission Area, creating RF GPS/GNSSAnti-Jam Systems for the military market. The role will be based atRaytheon's Harlow facility and the successful candidate will reportdirectly to the APNT RF Hardware Engineering SectionLead.

This is a creative andstimulating role offering development opportunities and the chanceto work alongside our highly skilled technicalteam.

The RF Hardware Engineer will be able maketheir mark on a broad and varied range of product designs and willbe expected to assist in the integration of these designs intoproduct being the focal point for the complete solution. They willhave the opportunity to support engineering solutions, overseeingthe integration of contributions from all other engineeringdisciplines - including systems, hardware, mechanical, software,safety and reliability.

Aboveall, this is the ideal opportunity for a self-starting RF HardwareEngineer who wants to work on exciting technology and productdevelopment projects in a collaborative environment. The successfulcandidate will have demonstrated competence in RF product designfor challenging environments and design for high volume techniques.The home office location will be based at Harlow with attendance onsite expected in line with Raytheon's hybrid workingmodel.

Thisrole includes:

* Developingrequirements for new products

* RF hardwaredesign and development with technical leadership - From the initialconcept stage, developing these concepts through to finalproduction and certification.

* Design andimplement RF test solutions.

* Working within theproduct hardware team and working with all other engineeringdisciplines throughout the design cycle, in a collaborative workingand shared environment.

* Producing designdocumentation and reports for project artefacts anddeliverables.

* Working with Customers and theProduct Design Authority to develop and shape the technicalrequirements design and then manage these requirements through thein order to meet the requirements set during productdevelopment.

* Interface with suppliers andindustry experts.

* Solving complex technicalproblems on new and existing GPS/GNSS Anti-JamProducts.

* Support and mentor junior engineersthrough their activities.

EssentialSkills:

  • In depthexperience in design and layout of RF and analogue micro circuitryand micro integration into products for harsh environments andhostile EM conditions.
  • Design experience inReceiver technologies in the 1-2 GHz band with an emphasis onGPS/GNSS signal.
  • Design experience of downconversion and up conversion techniques and processingmethods.
  • Good knowledge of product design andproblem solving within a design for manufactureenvironment.
  • Familiarity with Microwavesimulators (Cadence preferred), PCB layout and Mechanical modellingtools.
  • Experience in full system designlifecycle and ability to take an overall systemsview.
  • Good team player who is willing to takeownership of problems and actively engages in IPT and groupactivities.
  • Fully understand circuit operation,debug, diagnose and implementfixes.
  • Demonstrable problem solving andanalytical skills, willing to take ownership as well as positivelycontributing within cross-disciplinedteams.
  • Able to prioritise and manage theirtasks to ensure all are completed to time andschedule.
  • Develop hardware concepts efficientlyfrom limited or vague customer requirements and communicatepotential solutions.
  • Experience ininterpretation of customer specs and end useenvironments.
  • Good communication skills.Ability to tailor communications to level and audience at alllevels.
  • Excellent stakeholder management andcustomer interfacing skills.
  • Willingness totravel throughout the UK, Europe and theUS.
  • Understands the principles of 6 Sigma andLean Manufacturing.
  • Eligible or current holderof SC security clearance.

DesiredSkills:

  • Experience ofinterpretation of customer specs and end useenvironments
  • Experience in design formanufacture for high volume product.
  • Analyticalengineer who can process data efficiently to provide solutions toproblems and communicate the outcomes at alllevels.
  • Experience with interfacing to RFcircuitry and high-speed D/A /A/Dconversion
  • Experience using the Mentor Graphicstool suite; DX Designer, Constraints Editor, HyperLynx tools suchas Signal Integrity & Power Analyser or equivalents wouldbe advantageous.
  • Proven analytical skills incircuit simulation (MATLAB, LT Spice)) and thermalanalysis.
  • Product Quality Testing andCertification.
  • Experience of working withIndustry standard toolsets for requirement capture, design and taskmanagement (e.g., DOORs, MicrosoftProject).

RequiredEducation:

  • Minimum ofDegree in related subject, preferably in Electrical/ElectronicEngineering.
  • Proven experience in a productdesign and development role, within an Electronics ProductEnvironment.
