About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior RF Systems Engineer to join our team at Raytheon UK. As a Senior RF Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing RF systems for our GPS/GNSS Anti-Jam products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop RF systems for GPS/GNSS Anti-Jam products
  • Develop requirements for new products
  • Lead RF hardware design and development with technical leadership
  • Design and implement RF test solutions
  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate RF systems
  • Produce design documentation and reports for project artefacts and deliverables
  • Interface with suppliers and industry experts
  • Solve complex technical problems on new and existing GPS/GNSS Anti-Jam products
  • Support and mentor junior engineers through their activities

Requirements:

  • Minimum of degree in related subject, preferably in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
  • Proven experience in a product design and development role, within an Electronics Product Environment
  • Experience in design and layout of RF and analogue micro circuitry and micro integration into products for harsh environments and hostile EM conditions
  • Design experience in Receiver technologies in the 1-2 GHz band with an emphasis on GPS/GNSS signal
  • Design experience of downconversion and up conversion techniques and processing methods
  • Good knowledge of product design and problem solving within a design for manufacture environment
  • Familiarity with Microwavesimulators (Cadence preferred), PCB layout and Mechanical modelling tools
  • Experience in full system design lifecycle and ability to take an overall systems view
  • Good team player who is willing to take ownership of problems and actively engages in IPT and group activities
  • Fully understand circuit operation, debug, diagnose and implement fixes
  • Demonstrable problem solving and analytical skills, willing to take ownership as well as positively contributing within cross-disciplined teams
  • Able to prioritise and manage their tasks to ensure all are completed to time and schedule
  • Develop hardware concepts efficiently from limited or vague customer requirements and communicate potential solutions
  • Experience in interpretation of customer specs and end use environments
  • Good communication skills. Ability to tailor communications to level and audience at all levels
  • Excellent stakeholder management and customer interfacing skills
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK, Europe and the US
  • Understands the principles of 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
  • Eligible or current holder of SC security clearance

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of interpretation of customer specs and end use environments
  • Experience in design for manufacture for high volume product
  • Analytical engineer who can process data efficiently to provide solutions to problems and communicate the outcomes at all levels
  • Experience with interfacing to RF circuitry and high-speed D/A /A/D conversion
  • Experience using the Mentor Graphics tool suite; DX Designer, Constraints Editor, HyperLynx tools such as Signal Integrity & Power Analyser or equivalents would be advantageous
  • Proven analytical skills in circuit simulation (MATLAB, LT Spice)) and thermal analysis
  • Product Quality Testing and Certification
  • Experience of working with Industry standard toolsets for requirement capture, design and task management (e.g., DOORs, Microsoft Project)
